The Little Sandy Creek Ruritan Club held its annual ladies and barbecue, June 15, in Christ Memorial Church Park in Robertsville.
Dick Beck led group singing. Chaplain Terry Bailey offered prayer with the 37 members and guests present at the cook-out and covered-dish picnic Pat Irwin and Denny Snyder prepared.
President Denny Snyder called the meeting to order and conducted brief business. The secretary/treasurer's reports were approved after Don Irwin and Dick Lotze read them. It was reported the United States flags along U.S. Route 30 in Robertsville were up. Thank-you notes were received from the Paris Food Pantry, Minerva Community Meals, Chase Sanders, and Wade Bowers. A cash donation was given to Denise Helwig, for medical expenses. Snyder presented Heather Casper with a cash donation toward a scholarship from Ruritan National and Little Sandy Creek Ruritan Club.
Zone 5 Governor Todd Linder was a guest at the event. He spoke on Zone 5 activities and upcoming meetings.
