Nearly 100 family members attend Rugani reunion

Published:

The annual Rugani reunion was held June 27 at Sandy Valley Community Park, with about 100 family members in attendance.

This year's president, Scott Welker, greeted all those present and introduced relatives from Arizona, Illinois and Washington. Jim Marraccini offered a prayer to begin the family get-together.

The weather was great and everyone consumed plenty food and drinks.

Some of those who came the farthest for the reunion included Norma (Rugani) Shaw, her daughter Mary Jane, her granddaughter Natalie and her grandsons Kyle and Jake, who live in Arizona. Norma's son and daughter-in-law Robert and Cathy live in Illinois. Mike and Laurie Rugani live in Tacoma, Wash. Mike is the son of the late Raymond Rugani, who was Norma's brother. Mike is a retired colonel in the 1st Cavalry Tank Corps at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

The officers for 2011 are president Norma Shaw, vice president Scott Welker, secretary Nina Bersaglini, treasurer Nan Welker and historian Cathy Ionno.
