The O2 Ministry is celebrating its three-year anniversary Sunday, March 7. This outreach ministry of Otterbein United Methodist Church began meeting in March 2007. The mission and vision of this ministry is to "Encounter God through worship, Encourage growth through discipleship and Exercise faith through service."
The name O2 was chosen, as this is the symbol for oxygen. Oxygen is essential for life. Likewise, Jesus Christ is essential for life.
O2 offers a service done in a contemporary fashion with modern worship and praise songs, drama, media and relevant messages. It is held at T. C. Knapp Elementary School every Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
The focus is to reach the community by taking church to the neighborhood and providing a new worship service with a goal of helping people begin or renew their relationship with Jesus Christ and then actively becoming disciples and then servants. There are also classes for children through sixth grade. Childcare is provided for the toddlers. Each evening begins at 5 p.m. with a coffee bar, refreshments and fellowship.
Podcasts of the services are available each week at www.o2ministry.org
All are invited to celebrate this anniversary Sunday, March 7. There will fellowship and refreshments at 5 p.m. and worship at 6 p.m. Be prepared to experience church that is "Simply Different."
