* Tina Davis gave a 30th birthday party to Scott Muir on Feb 6. There were 75 people attending with a DJ to make the evening enjoyable.
* Boy scouting is 100 years old this month. East Sparta Pack 38 would like to invite any past den leader and cub masters to our blue and gold banquet. This will be on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. at the East Sparta United Methodist Church. Blue and gold celebrates the birthday of scouting every February.

* It is with great sorrow that we hear of the passing of Clarice Fiddler. Clarice was a resident of Magnolia for 66 years and lived a good life to 91. She is survived by her two sons Larry and Jerry, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A full obituary will follow.
* Congratulations to the following students who were named to the Dean's List at Ohio State University: Daniel Burnett, Nicole Skropits, Katie Tolin (4.0), and Lauren Yutzy; as well as Erika Crone who received a 4.0 in her first semester at the University of Toledo.
* Alexis Crone was recently named Spelling Bee Champion at Sandy Valley Middle School. (See related story coming).
* Bruce Grodhaus and Ann Davis-Munas (both formerly of Magnolia and now residing in Florida) enjoyed a wonderful dinner recently at The Colombia Restaurant in Celebration, Florida. They were joined by Bruce's Aunt Margie and Ann's husband, Mark.
* It's that time again for the Lion's Club Annual Rose Day. Members of the Magnolia Lion's Club are taking orders for rose delivery. Roses are $15 per dozen and can even be delivered to your home on Friday, March 19. Contact any Lion's Club member to order; the last day to place an order is Friday, March 5.
* Aluminum cans for recycling may be dropped off at the Magnolia Firehouse on any of their Tuesday meeting nights. Money collected from redeeming the aluminum will be donated to the area burn victims unit.
