I cannot let another week go by without taking the time to thank my community for its generosity to the Haiti Foundation Against Poverty.
The fund-raiser on Dec. 8 was a huge success and raised over $5,200 for the foundation. The HFAP director, Mallery Neptune, and her family continually commented on the people who donated and attended. They were overwhelmed by the sincere kindness of my friends and neighbors.
I would like to say a special thank you to the following local businesses: Waynesburg Vision Care, Wendell Ford, The Press-News, John McLaughlin Photography, Renee's Family Hair Care, Mr. David Janofa and the Sandy Valley School District, Waynesburg Carriage, Ron Ruegg Automotive, East Canton Printing, Taggarts and Eileen's Beauty Salon. When you have a need for service, please remember these businesses and their support of our community.
I am also grateful for the many people who donated time, gifts and finances to our fundraiser. If I were to list them all, it would take more than this page. Thank you for demonstrating to others what I have known all along: we are all blessed to live here!
