To Whom It May Concern:

At a time in our world when so much emphasis in our media is put upon such things as negative current events, financial burdens faced by many, and bleak outlooks on the future, it is necessary, especially this time of year, to stop and give thanks for each and every thing that we are blessed with in life.

The Faiello Family would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you out there who have participated or helped in the Annual Chase Faiello Memorial Golf Outing. The 5th Annual Outing on Saturday, July 11, 2009 was, again, a day for our family to see just how blessed we are, as well as how great this world can be when people come together for the same purpose. Chase passed away six years ago after battling leukemia. At only 8 years old, he touched the lives of thousands of people around the world, and still is to this day. This cause is not only obvious one day a year, at his golf outing, but a memorial cause was started on Facebook for Chase, and he has well over 1,000 members for his cause (feel free to search for the page and join).

Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, "We acquire the strength we have overcome." This tragedy will NEVER be totally overcame, however, we strive as a family to focus on the positive, which is something that we learned from Chase.

We started the Chase Faiello Memorial Scholarship Fund, which would be funded by proceeds collected at our yearly golf outing. Several Sandy Valley seniors each year are awarded with scholarships, and last year we were fortunate enough to be able to provide three graduating seniors with this award. We also had the opportunity last year for the first time to donate to other local charities. Our family's thinking was that our community pulled together and was there for us in our time of need, and Chase would want us to be there for them in their times of need.

Chase's Outing has grown exponentially over the years, and this year's 5th Annual Chase Faiello Memorial Golf Outing drew nearly 80 foursomes (300+ participants). Several unofficial sources have told us that it is the largest one-day charity golf outing in Ohio. It is absolutely amazing on that day each year to look at the assembled group of participants, knowing that they are all there for Chase.

In this time of Thanksgiving, we would like to try and show our appreciation to those of you who have participated in Chase's Golf Outing in any way, be it golfing, helping out that day, cooked or baked food, or just showed up for support. We would also like to thank those in the community for your donations of time and/or money, those who have supported our family over the past six years, and those who have simply thought or prayed about Chase throughout your days.

We were blessed to have such a wonderful creation in our lives, and we thank God for this. Chase's purpose was to touch those around him, and with your support, each year, he is able to positively affect the lives of others as they look to achieve their own goals in life (through the scholarship program). For those who want to be a part of next year's Memorial Outing, stay tuned and information will be in the paper. God Bless you all and have a wonderful Holiday Season.

In Thanksgiving,

The Faiello Family
