Mercy Cancer Center is offering free skin cancer screenings to promote prevention and early detection of the disease. Skin cancer screenings will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 inside Mercy Health Center of North Canton. Shield M. Wikas, D.O. will perform the screenings.
These free screenings are for patients with a specific area or areas of concern. Additionally, this screening is for people not currently under the care of a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers in the United States, with one in five Americans developing skin cancer during their lifetime. In fact, skin cancer accounts for nearly half of all cancers in the United States.
