Little Sandy Creek Ruritan Club elects officers

The Sept. 20 meeting of the Little Sandy Creek Ruritan Club was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Lotze in Robertsville.

After the annual wiener roast meal, President Dick Clapper called on Program Chairman Mike Wright to introduce speakers Jerry Morkle and Paul Jeremiah with the Stark County Firefighters Association. They spoke about the group planing a memorial for members to be built at the Beech Creek Botanical Garden in Washington Township. This memorial is to honor all of the county firefighters.

Clapper took up the repairs required on the roof of the Ruritan Club building. All of the materials have been purchased for this project. Lotze and Bill Tuttle, Sr will get club members help to complete the project.

Vice President Dick Pero advised the club that Terry Bailey will chair the committee for the Swiss steak supper coming up Oct. 15 at the Robertsville Grange.

Clapper called for a report from the nominating committee for next year's officers. Pero announced the slate of officers as follows: President Dick Pero; Vice President Chuck Bucher; Secretary Dick Beck; Treasurer Dick Lotze; and Three Year Director Dave Elliot.

Wright, Ohio district Lt. governor and LSC board member gave a report on the Ohio District Convention to be held Nov. 12 at United Local High School at Hanoverton.

Registration is at 9 a.m. and the convention meeting begins at 10 a.m. Wright also requested all line officers to attend and take officers training.

Registration is required by Nov. 4.

Clapper requested Lotze for a report on hospital equipment activity this month. Lotze reported that a bed lift, a hospital bed, a wheelchair and some walkers had all been returned this month.
