Stark County District Library will present a variety of guest author speakers this fall with topics ranging from sports talk and organized crime to stirring memoirs and war stories.
This fall's guest authors appearing at Perry Sippo and Lake Community Branches, Kyle Kondik, Mark Perretta, Terry Pluto, and Dan Moldea -- all share local roots.
Each event is free and will feature a discussion by the author followed by a question and answer session and book signing. Friends of the Library volunteers will have additional copies of the book available for purchase the night of the event.
Dates, times, and locations include:
Terry Pluto, author of "The Curse of Rocky Colavito" will appear Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Lake Community Branch. The author and sports columnist discusses the good, the bad and the ugly of Cleveland sports.
Dan Moldea, author of "Confessions of a Guerrilla Writer" will appear Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Perry Sippo Branch. The Akron native and independent investigative journalist will discuss his recently published, action-packed memoir.
"We're excited to showcase such great talent with a local connection this fall," said Marianna DiGiacomo, community services director. "These events are a great way to spur conversation in the community. We call this "Sharing Smart" at the Library and it's just one of the ways that we try to be The Smart Store° for Stark County."
Registration is requested due to limited seating. To register and for more information about these free author events, visit StarkLibrary.org.
