/ New York Times bestselling author Michael Hingson will visit the Canton Palace Theater in conjunction with the Stark County District Library on Sept. 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The event is for adults, teens in grades 6-12 and elementary students in grades K-5. Hingson will visit with his guide dog to discuss his book Thunder Dog. The book chronicles his life story and escape from the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
/ An animal expo will be held for all age groups on Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Animal friends will be featured from the Akron Zoo, the Canton K-9 Unit, the Stark County Humane Society and Pet Supplies Plus among others.
/ Family story time will be Sept. 13 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The program is for elementary students and early learners.
East Canton Branch
/ Women's Memoir Group will meet Sept. 13 from 11 a.m. to noon.
/ Book club will meet Sept. 13 from 7-8 p.m.
/ A teen's create after school program will be held Sept. 13 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. for students in grades 6-12. Activities include music, art, STEM and snap circuits.
/ Pups and pages will be held Sept. 17 from 10:30a.m. to noon. Children in grades K-5 are asked to bring a favorite book or borrow one of the library's to read to a licensed therapy dog.
Sandy Valley Branch
/ Book club will meet Sept. 12 from 6-7 p.m. in the library's meeting room.

/ A "Children's Learning with Technology" program will be held Sept. 14 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the library's meeting room. The program will be for elementary students (grades K-5) and early learners (birth to pre-K.) Demonstrations will show options for children to learn while playing with mobile devices such as Osmo and Tiggly.
/ Family story time will be held Sept. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The program is for early learners.
