Agreement reached between Osnaburg BOE, non-teaching staff

The Osnaburg Local Board of Education and the Ohio Association of Public School Employees have reached a new three-year contract for the non-teaching staff of the district.

According to a district press release, the parties involved agreed to not open traditional bargaining. The only items discussed involved salary and insurance.

The remainder of the current contract language, the press release said, will carry into the new agreement. The agreement provides 2 percent raises each year of the contract and a signing bonus of 2 percent for last school year.

Employees have agreed to pay 3 percent more for their health insurance over the life of their agreement, the press release said.

The board recognized the employees were patient during times when raises were small or weren't possible, according to the release, and it wanted to show appreciation for their patience. The association and the board noted in the release that the agreement is very fair for all parties involved.
