Troy Hysong has been named the Outstanding Citizen of the Year in Magnolia for 2016.
Hysong has been a resident of Magnolia for 25 years. He is a 1986 graduate of GlenOak High School and is the son of Patti and Nemer Esber of Carrollton and Bo and Sue Hysong of Magnolia. He is a veteran of the United States Army where he served from 1987-1990.
He has been married to Peggy for 22 years, and they have two daughters, Ali and Isabelle. Hysong is employed by Stark County Engineers as a supervisor and is the owner of Troy A. Hysong Asphalt and Sealcoating,
Hysong donates his extra time, money and effort to the betterment of the Village of Magnolia. You can find him mowing and maintaining the landscape of the Magnolia Flouring Mill, the Kemp Blacksmith Shop and the parks and recreational complexes in the Community.
His dedication to the Village of Magnolia is limitless. His true character shines through in his community involvement and proves he is undoubtedly deserving of Citizen of The Year.
Magnolia Mayor Bob Leach will present this award to Hysong during the Sandy and Beaver Canal Days on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 6:45 p.m. on the bandstand.
