CANTON TWP.-- Township trustees during their July 12 meeting discussed placing a police levy on the ballot in November.
The topic was to be discussed again at a crime watch meeting on July 21. That meeting was to be conducted by James Knight of the Stark County Prosecutor's office.
Trustees also announced its collaboration on road closures during the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival. Roads which will have "no parking anytime" and tow away zones during Aug. 4-7 are as follows: 16th Street NW between Broad Avenue and Clarendon Ave NW, 19th Street NW between Broad Avenue and Clarendon Ave NW, 21st Street between Broad Avenue and Clarendon Ave NW, Helen Place NW between Broad Avenue and Clarendon Ave NW, Clarendon Avenue NW between Helen Place NW and 17th Street NW, 17th Street NW between Lakeside Avenue NW and Clarendon Avenue NW, Blake Avenue between 17th Street NW and Fulton Road and Woodward Avenue between Blake Avenue and Barr Avenue.
Trustees additionally announced sponsorships are available for an upcoming community movie night. The event will be held Aug. 20 at Faircrest Park.
