Former East Canton teammates begin military service

Three recent East Canton High School graduates and former football teammates are set to begin their service with the United States military.

Todd Adams will make his career in the United States Army as a combat engineer. He will leave for boot camp and AIT training on Aug. 8. He will complete basic training at Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Steve Lautzenheiser will serve with the U.S. Army National Guard Reserve. He left July 5 for boot camp and AIT training in Leonard Wood Missouri for 17 weeks. He will serve as a horizontal construction engineer. When he returns from training, he plans on becoming an operating engineer Local No. 18.

Carter McClaskey left July 4 to San Antonio for basic training. After graduation, he will travel to Biloxi, Mississippi for tech school to study cyber system operations. He has always dreamed of becoming an airman like his father and recently his older brother Nathan, currently stationed in Alaska. He plans on continuing his education in his field while serving.
