/ The Bunco Babes met July 13 at Crossroads Restaurant. Prizes were won by Judy Carrick, Ellen Bailey and Nancy Babik Snyder. The next meeting will be Aug. 12 with Jane Barr serving as the hostess.

/ Twenty years ago this week, Mina Domer celebrated her 100th birthday on July 8. She was honored at an open house on July 7 with over 200 friends and relatives. She had guests from Florida, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia along with Ohio.

/ The Jolly Eight's Card Club met July 13 at Crossroads Restaurant for lunch and euchre. The hostess was Eileen Lower. The loner prize was won by Emma Smith. Other prize winners were Carolyn Littlefield, Lil Heilman and Helen Trompower. The next gathering of the group will be Aug. 12 with Carolyn Littlefield serving as hostess.

/ East Canton has added another great and fun thing for everyone to enjoy. There is a new place to have human foosball fun, located behind the Foltz Community Center. The court is open to everyone in the community. The only thing they ask is to leave it like you found it.

/ Fun times are coming up at the Werner Inn on Sunday, July 31 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. featuring an open house and an antique road show. Free ice cream and cookies will be available, and donations will be accepted. Stop by on Monday, Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m. for a cook out. Bring a covered dish, and enjoy the meal and friendship of your family, neighbors and friends.

/ Mark your calendars for the Lincoln Buy-Way sales Thursday through Saturday Aug. 11-13. Table rentals are available at the Foltz Community Center. Call 330-488-6500 for more information.

/ A Swiss steak dinner will be served at the Foltz Community Center July 20 from 4:30-7 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 3-10 and free for kids ages 2 and under. Beer and wine will be available. Call 330-488-6500 for more information. Carry out will be available.

/ The book for the Library book club for the Aug. 9 meeting from 7-8 p.m. is Beach House Memories by Mary Alice Monroe. Read the book and then attend the meeting at the Foltz Center to discuss what you liked, didn't like, or if you have questions about the book. Meetings are free. / Canal Days is fast approaching. This year's festivities will be held Aug. 12-14. Hours Friday night will be 5-9 p.m. Hours will be 4-9 p.m. on Saturday and noon-7 p.m. on Sunday. Anyone interested in volunteering, should contact Bonnie Welker at 330-866-9288. Donations of time, items, pies and cakes for the eats stand, entries in contests and many others are still needed throughout the weekend.

/ Contestants are being sought for the lip sync contest to be held at this year's Canal Days. Individuals, duets, groups, young performers, adult performers are invited to participate in the second annual lip sync contest on Aug. 14. Let's show the community your talent.
