Center Church of the Brethren will offer a Respite Night for parents of special needs children ages 12 and under on Friday July 22, 6-9 p.m. Register on line at www.center-cob.org.


Indian Run Christian Church Women's Ministry will hold a mini retreat on Saturday, July 30, 9 a.m. to noon. Reservations requested by July 27. The cost is $5 per person.

East Sparta Christian Church: Sundays July 24 and 31 from 3-6 p.m. There will be a fun closing day Aug. 7 in the town park near the East Sparta Community Building. This day will feature inflatables, a dunk tank, games, food and much more. Pre-registration is not required. If you have questions, call the church office 330-866-2552.

Augusta Community VBS: "Cave Quest VBS: Following Jesus, the Light of the World!" will be hosted at Augusta Grove from July 31 to Aug. 4. This is for kids from 3 years to high school (teen class will be included this year with a great reward at the end) and will run from 6:15-8:45 p.m. each day. The menu for July 25-29 is as follows:

Monday: Spaghetti with meatsauce, Italian blend veggies, warm applesauce, coleslaw, shortbread, cookie

Tuesday: Fried beef bologna and cheese on bun, hashbrown casserole, corn, tomato slices, fruit cocktail

Wednesday: Ham roasted sweet potatoes, cauliflower bake, dinner roll, juice, regular or unsweetened apple crisp

Thursday: Beef noodle casserole, peas, carrots, juice, lemon, cookie

Friday: Popcorn chicken bowl with popcorn chicken, shredded cheese, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, dinner roll, peaches

Margarine is served with all breads. Milk choices include skim, 2 percent or chocolate. All canned fruits are packed in juice.

Please note that substitutions may need to be made.
