EAST CANTON -- Crew members in the village are set to work on installing water meters in the next few weeks.
Village Administrator Edward Collins informed village council members during Monday's regular meeting that his crew will complete the work during the day as well as and many afternoons and evenings between the last two weeks in July and the first two weeks in August.
Council also agreed to purchase water software equipment that will allow the village to know when and where a water break would take place. The software will be installed at intervals of 100 per year. Estimated time for installing all of the units will be six years. Council explained the reason for doing 100 a year is due to each unit having a ten year battery. This will allow replacements to be done over a six-year time frame. The estimated cost for the project is $9,000.
