Crime watch meeting to be held in Canton Township

CANTON TWP. -- Township trustees announced at their June 14 meeting that a crime watch meeting will be held July 21.

The meeting will be conducted by Jim Knight from the Stark County Prosecutor's office at the township fire training facility, formerly Amos McDannel Elementary School. Knight also conducted a crime watch meeting on June 2.

Trustees also announced a community movie night will be held at Faircrest Park on Aug. 20. More details will be available on the township's website in upcoming weeks.

In other business, trustees:

/ DECLARED a list of four properties as nuisances;

/ APPROVED fiscal officer Ron Smith to sign a letter approving assessments to be added as tax liens against properties on 53rd St. SW, Carnwise St. SW, Lakeview Ave. SW, Mill St. SW, Cole Ave. SW and Waynesburg Drive SE.
