At the monthly meeting of the Isaac L. Kinney American Legion Post 244 on Jan. 5, commander Terry Potter, right, presents former East Sparta Mayor Jackie Truax with a certificate of appreciation. Commander Potter thanked Truax for her leadership of the village for the past 10 years and her support of the Legion. She was also presented a colorful photo of the newly erected monument that was a project of the Legion. Truax said she will frame and place the photo in the municipal building.
