Jan. 4 is one day when it's totally cool to be cold; in fact, it's necessary. Cold as ice is the ice sculpture event, 6-10 p.m. at the Canton Art District.
The show-stopper will occur at 7 p.m. when the Fire and Ice tower of Elegant Ice Creations lights up the sky on 4th and Cleveland. There will be temporary creations of 14 other ice carvers.
Stop at the Info Tent, to get some cocoa, make an ice bracelet, grab First Friday merch and redeem Buy Art/Get Cash promos for purchasing $20 or more in one of the galleries or studios ready with January sales.
Next door will be Creative Ohio where cardboard ice castles can be made, before venturing to Translations to see printivale, the gallery's latest exhibit, featuring work of national book and print making artists.
Attendees 13 and over can see episode 1 of "The Social Anxiety Hour," with two showings by the Parallax Theatre Ensemble.
Colette Wasdahl Fashions will feature 200 new pieces have been added to the vintage and resale collection.
Music will be heating up all night thanks to the Froth Fest, hosted by Buzzbin Art and Music, and operating one outdoor stage and indoor venues inside Buzzbin, George's Lounge and AmVets 555. There will also be music at 2nd April, Joseph Saxton Gallery, Linda Tuttle's Art Center, Tozzi's, Napoli's, Picciano's, and the B-Side Winehouse.
