CANTON --The Canton Symphony Orchestra will perform a holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m., at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall.
The Holiday Brass Pops Concert, led by assistant conductor Rachel Waddell, will feature Canton's own Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. The Canton Symphony Chorus as well as the choirs from Jackson and Louisville High Schools will join the celebration under the direction of Britt Cooper, Director of the Canton Symphony Chorus. The program will include holiday favorites such as Sleigh Ride, Vaughn Williams' Fantasia on Greensleeves as well as the Polar Express Suite; and the special world premiere of a new piece by Eric Benjamin, the current conductor of the Tuscarawas Philharmonic and Alliance Symphony. The concert is sponsored in part by Motter and Meadows Architects and CSE Federal Credit Union.
