/ Hope everyone had a very enjoyable Fourth of July holiday. We did. We went camping at Meadow Lake Park in Wooster. We went there last year for Fourth of July week and they had the greatest fireworks on the lake. Looking forward to them again this year!

/ Happy anniversary to Craig and Tesa Strasser, Randy and Kelly Spivey, Roy and Judy Spivey and Robert and Heidi Freshour.

/ Happy birthday this week are Haylee Gallo, Paula Stuckey, Pam Cook, Tim Ness, Lois Hattery, Nick Freday, Marie Hassler, Jan Lyon, Beth Ream, Carole Nichols, Bobbi Newell, Robert Freshour and Rosemary Richeson.

/ Congratulations to Billy Horton, who was surprised with a wonderful 50th birthday party at Moonlight Ballroom with Mr. Mike's Catering. His party was attended by many family and friends. Billy used to go to Southgate School and now attends West Stark. He has been in the program for 46 years. He enjoys the program very much!

/ Belated birthday greetings are extended to Grace Barnhart, who celebrated her birthday on June 28, but due to early deadline, vacations, etc, notice was received to late. So hope that you had a wonderful birthday Grace.

/ Get well wishes to Helen and Dick Denkhaus and Mike Shaffer.

/ Congratulations to Lee and Phyllis Strad, who received the Granger of the Year Award and to Eric Michael Juzewski who received the Non-Granger of the Year Award for Pike Grange 1669. Also at the meeting held on July 27, several grangers were honored and received awards. Twenty-five year granger Sharon Walker, 50-year granger Jane Barr, and member Sandy Easterday recently deceased was awarded 55-year award accepted by her husband and three members received 70-year awards. They were Joann Stallman, Raymond Rebstock and Mike Shaffer who was absent due to having pneumonia was also honored.

/ Twenty years ago this week, St. Mary's Senior Citizen's Group met at the Crossroads Restaurant for lunch followed by playing cards and bingo.

/ The 95th Thouvenin-Lehmiller Reunion was held on June 26 at the Sandy Valley Community Park with 55 members present. The prayer before lunch was given by Tyler Thouvenin. The meeting was called to order by Helen Trompower in the absence of president Greg Martz and vice president Cecelia Kramer. The 50/50 drawing was won by Mike Baltrains. The oldest man was Rodger Trompower, 75 years, and the oldest woman was Helen Trompower, also 75 years. The youngest child was Matthew Cruz, 3 years. Barbara Baltrains served as the auctioneer in the absence of Martz. The 96th reunion will be held on at the same time and place next year on June 25. The officers remain the same. Members enjoyed visiting, playing euchre, swimming, games and sharing family tree information.

/ It's time again for all of you seniors (agewise) not school age. On Wednesday, July 13, enjoy a great lunch at 11:30 a.m. The menu will include baked chicken breast, roasted red-skin potatoes, vegetable and coleslaw. Come early at 10:30 a.m., and sit back and enjoy country music by Jon King. If you haven't signed up already, call the Foltz Community Center for reservations at 330-488-6500.

/ You can help your Foltz Community Center and enjoy a delicious brunch on Sunday, July 17 from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 3-10 and free for children 2 and under. A lot of great choices includes a drink and dessert. Invite others to join you. This is a great way to say thank you to your community center.

/ It's time to get ready for the August Lincoln Highway Buy-Way Sale. You can set up at the Foltz Community Center with all your stuff as people from across the country are eagerly shopping. Spots are $10. If you need a table, the cost is $5. The sale will be held Thursday through Saturday Aug. 11, 12 and 13. / Contestants are being sought for the lip sync contest to be held at this year's Canal Days. Individuals, duets, groups, young performers, adult performers come and participate in the second annual lip sync contest on Aug. 14. Let's show the community your talent.
