Vincents of East Canton awarded excellence award by cattlemen

The Ohio Cattlemen's Association awarded Kris and Becky Vincent, of East Canton, the Industry Excellence Award at an awards banquet held Jan. 26, at the Columbus Marriott Northwest, in Dublin.

Each year, in an effort to recognize individuals who continue to promote and excel the beef industry, the association and Brownfield Ag Network jointly sponsor the Industry Excellence Award.

Kris and Becky Vincent own and operate Tri-Pine Farm, in Osnaburg Township. The farm gets its name from the 1930s, when there were three pine trees in the front yard.

They have a cow-calf operation and sell naturally raised beef at the local farmers market, where Kris also does a cooking demonstration. Kris works as a maintenance supervisor at Malone College, while Becky works at PBS Animal Nutrition.

Both are extremely active in the cattle industry. Kris has represented the Ohio Cattleman's Association. He is on the board of directors for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, where he has also served on its nutrition and health committee.

Becky also serves the industry as a member of the Ohio CattleWomen's Association and part of the OCA Allied Industry Council.

The Vincents helped start the Stark County Cattlemen's Association, which was awarded outstanding county affiliate at this year's OCA annual meeting.
