AEP Ohio, partnering with Metadigm, has begun installing approximately 4,100 automated meters in the Canton area on Dec. 7.
The work is expected to continue for approximately three weeks, barring inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Customer notifications were distributed on Nov. 19.
Meter installations will be conducted Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The meter change is at no cost to customers.

The majority of the AMR meters are being installed in rural areas; therefore, AEP Ohio meter readers will continue to obtain actual readings on the dial-type electric meters in the field.
