Cook Legacy Farms is announcing the grand opening of Cook Legacy Stables, located at 3521 Haut Rd., East Sparta.
An open house will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, from noon until 5 p.m. This will be an opportunity to hear presentations regarding horse care and feeding, provided by a veterinarian, farriers and a nutritionist. A concession stand will be provided by a local 4-H group. Free horse rides will also be available for kids.
The Cook family has operated farms in Pike, Sandy and Canton townships for more than 100 years. The farms have done horse and cattle breeding and grain production. Cook Legacy Stables offers a nutritionist with decades of experience, which is unique for Stark County stables. It is one of the biggest stables in Stark County, with 47 horse stalls and 98 acres at the facility. The stables has two outdoor arenas and an indoor arena that has been completely remodeled. The facility is not only one of the biggest but also one of the newest remodeled facilities.
The Stable managers, Bryttanie and Mark Zimmerman, bring previous stable management experience. Bryttanie has exhibited and competed at the Quarter Horse Congress for years. The Cook family is proud to have secured experienced stable managers such as the Zimmermans.
