POLICE REPORT
Sandy Township
June 20— The police were called to a suicidal individual. The individual was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
June 25— The police were called to investigate a possible firearm that was left in a mailbox. The investigating officer determined it was a toy and the case was closed.
June 26— The police arrested a 42 year-old Canton resident following a crash in the 7500 block of Waynesburg Dr. According to the report, the investigating officer determined the suspect was driving under the influence and the alcohol was a factor in the accident.
June 26— The police were called to a domestic disturbance on Mottice. The investigating officer advised the suspects that if they returned to the residence they would be arrested for trespassing.
June 28— The police investigated a one car injury accident that occurred on Willowdale just outside the limits of the Village of Magnolia. The driver went on the roadway and after striking the guardrail went into the raven. The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The police investigated a one car accident that occurred on Mottice in Sandy Township. The driver went on the edge of the roadway striking a utility pole. There were no injuries and the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
June 29— The police investigated a telecommunications harassment complaint between two juveniles. The investigating officer determined there was insufficient evidence to warrant a charge at this time. Both juveniles were advised not to have any more contact with each other.
July 1— The police were called to a private property accident that occurred on McDannel. The victim was riding a dirt bike when the accident occurred. The victim was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The police arrest a 37 year-old Malvern resident for OVI. According to the report the suspect was driving without headlights on Minerva Rd. The suspect was charged with OVI and operation without headlights.
July 2— The Magnolia Police Department hosted an OVI Check Point in the 8500 block of Waynesburg Dr. SE. The Magnolia Police in conjunction with the Stark County Sheriff’s Department and Perry Township Police checked 1,225 vehicles as a part of an ongoing effort by the Stark County OVI Task Force to keep intoxicated drivers off the street and make sure that driver’s comply with Ohio’s seat belt and safe driving laws.
Village of Magnolia
June 21— The police were called to assist the Waynesburg Police Department for a trespassing complaint. Officer remained on scene while the Waynesburg Police Department completed their investigation.
June 22— The Magnolia Police are investigating a vandalism incident that occurred at the Magnolia Park. Several pieces of park equipment were spray-painted as well as the asphalt in the basketball / tennis courts.
The police investigated an assault complaint that occurred in the Magnolia Village Park. The investigating officer determined the complaint was unfounded and the case was closed.
The police assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol in a fatality motorcycle accident that occurred in the 100 block of West Carrollton. Officer’s remained on scene while OSP completed their investigation.
June 24— The police reported an incident involving unattended children in the 300 block of Carrollton. The investigating officer advised the parents of potential risks and consequences.
The police responded to a theft complaint in the 100 block of Main Ave. According to the victim, she left a piece of lawn care equipment leaning against a telephone pole while she dumped some trash. When she returned it was gone. The matter is under investigation.
Village of East Sparta
June 19— The police recieved a stolen motorcycle complaint on Walnut. The matter is under investigation.
June 20— The police were called to investigate a complaint of a man shooting a bb-gun at a dog. The officer was able to make contact with suspect and he was advised not to shoot at animals with his bb-gun.
The police were called to investigate a stolen vehicle complaint. The investigating officer determined the complaint was unfounded and the case was closed.
June 21— The police were called to assist the Stark County Sheriff’s department in a warrant arrest. The suspect was placed in custody without incident.
June 26— While doing a traffic stop, the police reported that the driver of the suspect vehicle fled on foot into the woods. The matter remains under investigation.
June 28— Police arrested a 23 year-old female for domestic violence after assaulting her husband.
EAST CANTON
POLICE REPORT
July 1— While doing patrol the police observed a suspect turn left without using his turn signal. After a brief investigation the suspect was determined to be under the influence and was arrested. The suspect was charged with OVI and failure to use a turn signal.
June 25— Officer arrests a subject with an active warrant in the 100 block of W. Nassau. Responds to the 100 block of E. Nassau for reported suspicious activity. Helps a motorist with a disabled vehicle in the area of Nassau and Cedar. Responds to the 400 block of Medina for an alarm.
June 26— Arrests a motorist for driving intoxicated in the 200 block of E. Walnut.
June 27— Responds to a fight called in around the 100 block of N. Plum. Assists the squad with a patient in the 200 block of S. Cedar. Arrests a subject with an active warrant in the 100 block of N. Plum.
June 29— Initiates a traffic stop in the 800 block of W. Nassau. The driver is cited with having expired plates and driving under suspension. Assists the Probation Office with a case in the 400 block of S. Berger. An Ohio drivers license is found in the 800 block of W. Nassau, turned in and logged into lost property.
June 30— Assists the Sherrifs Office with a case of telephone harassment in the 200 block of E. Walnut.
