State funding announced for Stark State College of Technology

Karen Mundy Published:

COLUMBUS—State Representative Todd Snitchler (R- Uniontown) recently announced that the State Controlling Board released $500,000 in state funding to Stark State College of Technology to be used for campus renovations.
“Stark State College of Technology is an asset to our community, and it is encouraging to see the school expanding despite tough economic times,” Representative Snitchler said. “These funds will allow the college to better serve its students in state of the art facilities.”
Stark State College of Technology enrollment grew by 20 percent in 2010.
This funding will allow the college to renovate a facility the school leases in North Canton to accommodate the Corporate Services and Continuing Education Division. The property, which used to be part of the old Hoover Company complex, is currently the Maple Street Commerce, LLC facility.
After the renovation, the facility will feature four classrooms, a conference room, a student lounge, two computer labs, four industrial activity labs and staff offices.
