General Election Day is Nov. 3

Registered voters may vote absentee in person at the Stark County Board of Elections office through Monday, Nov. 2. Requests for absentee ballots to be mailed must arrive at the Board of Elections no later than noon, Saturday, Oct. 31. The Board of Elections will be open for in person absentee voting on Saturday, Oct. 31, 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Absentee ballots returned in person to the Board of Elections must arrive no later than Tuesday, Nov. 3, Election Day) at 7:30 p.m. Absentee ballots returned through the mail must be postmarked by Nov. 2, and will be counted if received by the Board of Elections by Nov. 13.

To obtain an absentee ballot, voters can vote in person or send a written request for a ballot to the Board of Elections:

* Stark County Board of Elections, Main Office, 201 Third Street NE, Canton OH 44702, telephone: 330-451-7004;

* Applications can also be obtained from the Web site at www.boe.co.stark.oh.us;

* Regular Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

All requests by mail must be in writing and include the following information:

* Voter's name and voting address;

* Address where the ballot is to be sent (if other than home address);

* Voter's date of birth;

* One form of identification: last four digits of social security number or your Ohio driver's license number or copy of a current valid photo identification, a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that show your name and address.

* Statement stating you are a qualified elector; and

* Voter's signature.
