18th annual Red Cross duck race set June 28

The American Red Cross Stark County Chapter will hold its 18th annual duck race fundraiser on Sunday, June 28, from 1-4 p.m. at Stadium Park, in Canton. All proceeds will benefit the many programs and services of the local Red Cross chapter.

Activities during the event include: games and prizes for children; free blood pressure readings; food; ice cream; music; an appearance by Disaster Duckling; a duck walk for children up to the age of 12; and a duck pond drawing for children ages five or under.

Beginning at 2:30 p.m., the duck race will start with over 1,500 plastic ducks racing down the creek. Before the race, ducks can be purchased for just $5, with the chance of winning over 50 prizes. First prize is $300 in cash, second prize is $150 and third prize is $75.
