Troop 38 Wins Klondike Derby

Zoar, OH- The Boy Scouts of East Sparta braved the frigid sub zero temperatures as they competed in the annual Neta District Klondike Derby this past weekend to bring home the trophy.. The Klondike Derby is a competition in which troops from all over the area arrive at historic Camp Tuscazoar to demonstrate their knowledge of scouting skills in a series of 10 stations, ranging from first aid skills, and knot tying, to blindfolded tent pitching and fire building. Troop 38 entered two patrols in the competition, one in the scout division, and one in the leadership division. The Frozen Phoenix Patrol captured the coveted Klondike Derby Sled for the scout division and leadership patrol aptly known as the "pests patrol" captured a third place finish only 5 points behind the high score.

Congratualtions to Troop 38 for the excellent performance at the Klondike Derby.
