NORTON SHORES, Mich. (AP) -- Police say a 34-year-old sword-wielding man who was shot by a West Michigan officer has died.
Christopher Charles Burroughs was shot Thursday by a Norton Shores police officer.
The Muskegon Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/MrxZaM) Friday that authorities say he's dead.
Police say the officer shot Burroughs around 5:30 p.m. behind Burroughs' home as Burroughs waved a four-foot-long sword over his head.
Muskegon County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Brett Gardner says the state police are interviewing both police and civilian witnesses. He expects the investigation will take several days.
