GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -- Celtic bounced back from its heavy loss to Juventus in the Champions League by thrashing Dundee United 6-2 in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday, opening up an 18-point lead in the standings.
Kris Commons and Anthony Stokes both scored twice, with the host's other goals coming from Joe Ledley and Efe Ambrose at Celtic Park.
It was the reigning champion's first match since the 3-0 home defeat to Juventus in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 match on Tuesday.
Their European hopes may be in tatters but the Scottish league looks in the bag, with closest challenger Inverness losing 3-0 at Motherwell, which climbed to second place. Motherwell has a game in hand over Celtic.
